Changing your attitude can help you lose weight

By Adam Worls

Exercise in the number way to help your body, however whenever people hear this they shut down so I will not begin with something that people tend to see as so daunting, and will begin with the air you breathe. I know it seems like such a little thing but actually most people don't know that the air you breathe can cause major illnesses such as asthma, autoimmune disease, and allergies. The World Health Organization estimates that 45 percent of all buildings pose a serious health hazard due to indoor air pollution. Did you know that indoor air can be up to 10 times more hazardous than outdoor air? The solution is to get more outside air indoors by opening windows, or clean your indoor air with air purifiers such as one with a UV-oxidizer.

As in industry leader in health care services, Social Service Coordinators has a social advocacy program designed to assist Medicare beneficiaries with identifying and enrolling into programs for which they are eligible, including different Pharmacy Assistant Programs (PAP) that help beneficiaries with discounted or free medications.

Why the sudden change in attitudes towards health care? Some critics believe that these changes are due in part to the rise in health care costs which are creating more of a demand that seniors learn to take care of themselves to prevent seeing the doctor so often, this includes regular exercise and diet. Many senior centers are on the health wagon, offering fitness programs and healthier meal options.

One of the most important changes does not necessarily come from any program however, but from a desire for change. When you make a conscious decision about the choices you make pertaining to what you eat, whether you exercise, how much you sleep, or where you choose to live and work, all these choices are yours to make, for the betterment of your health or for ill. When you choose to make healthy decisions throughout your entire lifestyle you will notice your body has more energy and responds to healthier choices.

So how would you change from poor health choices to healthy ones? Let me give you an example: The stress of a person's job can certainly be a cause and effect habit; I know of a co-worker that instead of coming home after a stressful day of work and "zone out" in front of the TV, he chooses to go to the gym instead. This is not only a lifestyle choice but will have a healthy result.

Each day you make choices, each choice leads to a future outcome, healthy or not it is up to you. Unfortunately most people do not think about the future when making healthy choices, especially when it comes to health care; why not start today by talking with a health advocate who has the technology tools to improve your health starting with free advocacy- meeting your over all health care needs.

Don't let yourself become depressed by past decisions, or a lack thereof because it is very draining on the body and does nothing for the benefit of your health. Start with small steps, choose one thing in your life that you would like to change for the positive and move towards it, when you feel this has become a healthy habit move on to your next goal. Keep it simple and your choices will become your great reward.
